Sakset fra MCN :

Honda set to quit WSB

16 Oct 2002

Honda is set to quit WSB despite winning the 2002 World Superbike
championship.

There had been rumours that GSE Racing would take on Honda’s WSB
challenge, but now GSE has confirmed it will remain with Ducati, the
decision by the Japanese factory to pull-out looks almost certain.

The decision to quit will be in spite of the new 1000cc limit for
four-cylinder WSB machines permissible in 2003. Honda believes the
rules regarding the airbox limitations are too strict and is likely to
hold off entering a FireBlade-based bike at least until 2004.

A final decision is expected by Friday, October 25.

No champion, no Honda, no Kawasaki, no Yamaha...the future looks bleak
for WSB in 2003

omsætte den indhentede goodwill i nye VTR- / V2-varianter ud over 1000-
