Godt nok er det dyrt at køre MC i Singapore, men se her hvordan man straffer
tyve ))

Longer jail term for motorcycle thief
THE prosecution was unhappy that a youth with a history of crime had got off
with a light sentence when he was given a 40-month jail term for a spree of
stealing motorcycles for joy rides, and then abandoning them.

So, it appealed against the sentence.

Chief Justice Yong Pung How agreed yesterday and increased the sentence by
another 20 months.

Now, Mohammad Roaizat Mohamed Jalil, 20, is slapped with a five-year jail
sentence for this offence.

He is also disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles for 14 years.

Within a few weeks in February, he and his accomplice committed a series of
six motorcycle thefts in Sembawang and Woodlands.

They started the stolen motorcycles by inserting a nail-cutter or other keys
into the ignition.

Both were nabbed at a police road-block.

His accomplice was jailed for 44 months in a district court for the thefts
as well as other offences, including riding without a valid licence.
