 | Mikrofon mangler noget boost

Hej gruppe.
Ville igår lege lidt med Kphone og musimi.dk.
Her fandt jeg ud af at min mikrofon næsten intet optager, jeg skal
ligefrem sluge mikrofonen før den opfanger noget. Har selvfølgelig
prøvet med en anden mikrofon - samme problem.
Har optaget med programmet rec og senere afspillet i xmms for at bekræfte
den er gal med lydinstillingen og ikke Kphone.
Jeg bruger alsa lyddriver, og når jeg går ind i alsamixer er der godt
nok en mixer der hedder Mic Boost, denne kan jeg mute eller unmute.
Jeg kan bare ikke høre forskel når jeg gør det, og det mere sjove er at
den står under Playback (F3) og selve Mic Capture befinder sig under
Capture -delen (F4).
Jeg forstår det ikke.
Nogen der kan hjælpe?
Noget man evt. kan angive i ens ~/.asoundrc?
