James Cameron og fridykning
Fra : C. H. Engelbrecht

Fandt nedenstående på
http://www.empireonline.co.uk/news/news.asp?story=4942.

sikkerheden i højsædet)

Hold Your Breath
James Cameron returns to the deep
07/08/2003

We don't think it would be too far out of line to say that James Cameron has
developed something of a water fetish. The Abyss, Titanic and Ghosts of the
Abyss director clearly has so much fun shooting in the deep blue sea that
he's decided to do it yet again - something his beleaguered crew will
doubtless be thrilled to bits about.

The extremely dangerous sport of freediving will be the focus of his new
project - destined to begin production straight after his still top secret
3D IMAX film - and will chart the real-life love story between Francisco
"Pipin" Ferreras and wife Audrey Mestre, both of whom set records at the
sport. Anyone unfamiliar with this particularly insane pastime should be
aware that it involves diving to extreme depths with only a lungful of air.
Needless to say it's somewhat perilous and Mestre died last year while
trying to break 557.7 feet.

In preparation for the film, Cameron will be present in October to film
Ferreras' attempt at beating his late wife's record - at the exact place he
first met her and taught her to dive. The director will use two manned
submersibles to capture the attempt, footage that will be later used in the
as-yet untitled film.

On a side-note, the definitive freediving film currently in existence has to
be Luc Besson's 1988 film The Big Blue, well worth getting hold of if you
find yourself at a loose end.

bedre end Big blue!?

Blue rangen stridig.
