Sun has finally decided to consider releasing a Java Runtime Environment
(JRE) for Strong ARM based Pocket PC. The release is still dependent on the
number of positive user responses Sun receives. At the moment we still need
a large number of responses for this to be feasible. To put this in context,
Microsoft .NET is currently the only fully supported development environment
for Pocket PC - it needs competition and Java excels on mobile devices such
as this.

Failure of this petition may mean that yet another Microsoft platform will
lack adequate modern Java 2 type (J2ME) support - at least on this platform
we can make a difference. To support J2ME on Pocket PC please use the
