Did you by chance have the MSBlast virus, and apply a patch recently?
A resolution to the MSBlast virus may have involved shutting down RPC temporarily to apply patches. The RPC service may just need to be re-started and set to automatically run.
click 'start' 'run' type 'services.msc' and locate 'Remote Procedure Call(RPC) {not locator} and make sure that Startup type is automatic and the service is started. You should also make sure that on the 'Recovery' tab that each failure response is set to 'Restart the computer'

Jeg har også set reference til prøv at genstarte PrintSpooler.
Når jeg oplever problemer som er COM/COM+/ActiveX relaterede, så viser der sig altid fejl som kan findes med fx. RegCleaner, og som oftest så forsvinder de igen når der er blevet ryddet op.
