If you follow the language pattern established by Microsoft, especially
in their menu designations, you install server extensions to the server
or box, and configure each Virtual Web Server to use the server
extensions. This allows some VWSs to use server extensions, some to
not use any, and for FPSE 98 and 2000 to be use on the same server, but
different VWSs at the same time. The reverse processes are to remove
server extensions (not disfigure) and uninstall.
When Intermedia.NET says "make sure the old extensions are uninstalled
for the *particular site* before" he is really saying that the
extensions should be *removed* from the particular Virtual Web Server,
not that the extensions should be uninstalled from the box. When
prompted, you probably also want to lose the metadata when you remove
the extensions. The metadata will be reconstructed when you configure
the VWS to use the new server extensions.
