ville lade ham overnatte.

en masse konstruktivt at tænke over.

Han har bidraget til lykkemaximering i samfundet. Han bør inspirere mange
til at efterfølge ham

Oscar Wilde Irsk-Engelsk Dramatiker, Poet, Filosof (1854-1900)

Wilde

"The real fool, such ad the gods mock and mar, is the who does not know
himself." skrev den meget kristne Oscar Wilde

Samfundet tilgiver ofte forbryderen, men aldrig drømmeren, Oscar Wilde 1891

Oscar Wilde

To me the life of the businessman, who eats his breakfast early in the
mourning, catches a train to the city, stays there in a dingy, dusty
atmosphere of the commercial world, and goes back to his house in the
evening, and after supper to sleep , is worse than the life of a galley
slave - his chains are golden in stead of iron. Oscar Wilde

man ser dets skønhed.

Manners more important than morals

"Bort med hykleriet. Lyssky udsvævelser er ikke noget for mig. Jeg vil nyde
alt i fuldt dagslys" skrev en klog mellemøstlig intellektuel inden at Islam
havde fået gennemført sit forbud mod nytænkning (Abu Nawas 787-814) Han
lovpriste onani.

ville verden blive forynget"

for.(Theodore Zeldin "Det private livs historie. Samtid 1992.

Scandal is gossip made tedious by morality Oscar Wilde

Love and gluttony justify everyting. Oscar Wilde

Wilde

Hearts live by being wounded.

forkert, fordi det ville have været at begrænse. Jeg måtte videre." skriver
Oscar Wilde i fængslet.,

Tværtimod ville en liste over
mine perverse passioner og fordrejede forhold fylde mange slibrige bind".
Oscar Wilde.

"Life held to my lips a full flavoured cup, and I drank it to the dreggs. The
bitter and the sweet. I found the sweet bitter, and the bitter sweet.
..Because I have written all there was to write, I wrote when I did not know
life. Now that I know the meaning of life, I have no more to write.I have
found my soul, I was happy in prison because I found my soul." Oscar Wilde

perfersiteten for mig i lidenskabens svære." Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde

uf I choose my fiends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their good
characters, and my enemies for their good intellects. A man cannot be too
careful in the choice of his enemies. Oscar Wilde

uf I have always been of opinion that hard work is simply the refuge of
people who have nothing whatever to do.(this very un-japanese sentence,
parallels "work is the curse of the drinkinh class," which is attribituted
to Wilde) Oscar Wilde

uf If a woman wants to hold a man, she has merely to appeal to what is worst
in him. We make gods of men, and they leave us. Others make brutes of them
and they fawn and are faithful.Oscar Wilde

uf If England treats her criminals the way she has treated me, she doesn't
deserve to have any.Oscar Wilde

uf In this world there are only two tragedies. One is not getting what one

uf The one charm of marriage is that it makes a life in deception absolutely
necessary for both parties. Oscar Wilde

VENNER

v But what is the good of friendship if one cannot say exactly what one
means?
Anybody can say charming things and try to please and to flatter, but a true
friend always says unpleasant things, and does not mind giving pain
Indeed if he is a really true friend he prefers it, for he knows that then
he is doing good. Oscar Wilde

v He (George Bernard Shaw) hasn't an enemy in the world, and none of his
friends like him. Oscar Wilde

v "Anybody can sympathize with the suffering of a friend, but it requires
a very fine nature to sympathize with a friends succes". Oscar Wilde

x (TO REALISE ones nature to perfection, is what each of us is here for

The body is punished for its refusals. Every impulse that we strive to
strangle broods in the mind and poisons us. The body sins once, and has done
with its sin, for action is a mode of purification.

The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and
your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself.
