The 0x80244001 error is most likely a MSXML installation problem.


Could you please check if msxml3.dll and msxml3r.dll in the
C:\Winnt\System32\ folder does not have a file size of 0 bytes.

If they are, you can e.g. copy the original files back from the
DllCache folder (C:\Winnt\System32\Dllcache\, hidden folder).


If they did not have a file size of 0 bytes, register MSXML3.dll
and see if it helps:

1. Click Start.

2. Choose Run.

3. In the Run box, type (or copy/paste from this post)

%windir%\system32\regsvr32.exe %windir%\system32\MSXML3.dll

(note the space there in the middle)

4. Click OK.
