Continuing the pre-apocalyptic conjectures about the aethiology of
World War III:

Through its bombing and quasi-surgical elimination of entire
neighbourhoods of Beirut in the recent war against the Hizbollah,
Israel introduced an entirely new concept, the selective destruction of
a big city.

So during the pause for thought before the second half, Hizbollah and
their masters in Tehran are confronted with the challenge of combining
two facts established during the first half:

1)   The ability of Hizbollah to reach deep into Israel by means of
Iranian rockets.

2)   The concept of selective bombing of a big city.

Obviously, Tel Aviv is not a candidate for such a task, only Jerusalem
features the demographic mixture of Jews and Arabs which from a
Hizbollah/Iranian point of view would be suitable for retaliating the
selective bombing of Beirut.
