Nå, men jeg fik at vide, at det emne er diskuteret utallige
gange i Adobes InDesign-forum. Sådan går det, når man ikke søger
godt nok, inden man stiller et spørgsmål, men alligevel var de da
flinke nok til at gentage svaret, som jeg lige vil citere her.
| The short answer is no, there is no way to use ID's PDF export
| and not get CID encoded fonts. You could of course change all
| fonts to outlines, but this is a design faux pas, as most text
| 12pt and under will loose quality (hinting)
|
| Be aware also, that using Acrobat Distiller will NOT guarantee
| no CID fonts. If the glyph requires double byte, Distiller
| will so encode.
Og:
| And just so we're clear: it isn't that the PDF isn't
| PostScript Level 2 compatible, it's the
| "PostScript-compatible" interpreter on your printer that
| doesn't contain a full instruction set. CID fonts have been
| part of the PostScript language for almost ten years now.
|
| From an Adobe paper on CID fonts
| <
http://www.adobe.com/products/postscript/pdfs/cid.pdf>
| (dated November 1995):
|
| Q. Will CID fonts work with every PostScript release?
|
| A. CID-keyed fonts will work with every two-byte capable
| PostScript release (all Level 2 devices that are 2011 and
| beyond and Level 1 devices that include the composite font
| extensions). However, the CID Support Library is required so
| that the CID-keyed font can be printed on any PostScript Level
| 2 printer containing versions of the PostScript language
| before 2015 (see below). Adobe CID font downloaders will also
| download the CID Support Library to the printer, if the
| library is not already present and the printer has at least 2
| MB of available RAM.
|
| Q. Will CID fonts work with PostScript language clones?
|
| A. Clone vendors are responsible for ensuring compatibility of
| their products with the Adobe standard. Adobe has done nothing
| to explicitly exclude clone support for the CID format, but
| the Adobe PostScript interpreter, beginning with release 2015,
| has been optimized to perform extremely well with the new
| format.
Det undrer mig i så fald, at Acrobat tænder advarselslamperne
når man tjekker en PDF med CID-fonte for PostScript Level 2-
kompatibilitet, for det var helt klart det der forvirrede mig,
men sådan skal det åbenbart være.
