Jeg tror at du mangler at afinstallere driverne helt.
HP har et lille program til at gøre dette med:
"Deskjet USB Supplemental Uninstaller"
Beskrivelsen siger bl.a. følgende:
Use this utility when:
The USB driver installs part way, then the driver will not install.
The Add New Hardware Wizard will not appear or one of the following
conditions will occur.
1. After selecting Finish on the Add New Hardware Wizard during a USB
install, the HP Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear.
2. Plugging in the USB cable causes the Add New Hardware Wizard to
appear on the screen briefly. The USB port driver loads, and the
Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear. There is no
interaction required from the user in this scenario.
3. After printing successfully with the printer installed on the USB
port and then uninstalling the printer driver, attempts to reinstall
it fail.
Jeg ved ikke om det direkte link ned til programmet virker, men prøv:

Og ellers er den at finde på HP's hjemmeside under support og så
software downloads til HP970.
