PART ONE: KEEPERS OF PEACE
Location: The Senate halls on Coruscant.
Situation: The vote for a standing army for the Republic is being
delayed, due to the assassination attempt on Senator Amidala's life.
After the Naboo Senator has spoken before the assembled Senate,
Palpatine decides to postpone the vote:
PALPATINE
Due to the lateness of the hour and the seriousness of this motion, we
will take up these matters tomorrow. Until then, the Senate stands
adjourned.
Shorty after, the Supreme Chancellor is already back in his office
sitting behind his desk inside the Executive Quarters Building, two
Red Royal Guards on either side of the door. The Chancellor has
assembled the venerable Jedi Masters Yoda, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi-Mundi and
Mace Windu, to contemplete the recent events:
PALPATINE
I don't know how much longer I can hold off the vote, my friends. More
and more star systems are joining the separatists.
MACE WINDU
If they do break away -
PALPATINE
No! I will not let that happen!
MACE WINDU
But if they do, you must realize there aren't enough Jedi to protect
the Republic. We are keepers of the peace, not soldiers.
PART TWO: WORSE THAN WAR
Location: The Chancellor's office inside the Executive Building.
Situation: Palpatine is having a discussion with Jedi Masters Yoda and
Mace Windu about the Separatist Movement (see previous report "PART
ONE: KEEPERS OF PEACE").
PALPATINE
Master Yoda, do you think it will really come to war?
The little green Jedi Master closes his eyes to concentrate.
YODA
Worse than war, I fear... Much worse.
PALPATINE
What?
MACE WINDU
What do you sense, Master?
YODA
Impossible to see ... The Dark Side clouds everything. But this I am
sure of -
(opens his eyes)
Do their duty the Jedi will.
Yodas sidste bemærkning giver mig "the chills". Kan ikke vente med at
