Asus A7v133 ata100 controller and scsi con~
Fra : Michael Maymann

Hi,

I have installed my OS's (winme (c:) and win2kpro (d:)) without my scsi
controller (initio910u) and everything worked fine. When I insertet the scsi
controller it says that my ata100 raid controller (Promise FastTrak100) and
my scsi controller(initio) has the same irq (I can see from the scsi menu
that my
scsi controller has irq=10, but both has 10 in w2kpro !?!?!?!) - Win2kpro
works fine but winme won't boot up after the multiboot menu.

It also changed my cpu speed from 1333 to 1000 in the first startup.

How do I change my irq either on the ata100 or on the scsi controller ?
Does this solve the problem ?

Thanks in advance
Michael

Hi,
The onboard Promise controller shares IRQ with one of the PCI-slots! Try to
insert the SCSI-controller in another PCI-slot!

I had IRQ-problems with A7v133 in Linux which is more demanding regarding
IRQs for sound card, network controller, IDE controller etc - Win2k just
assign everything to IRQ 9. Switching PCI-slots helped me.

Go to your device manager (right-click on My computer, hardware tab
and then device manager, then under "Computer" you'll find ACPI...
something, double click that and do an update of the driver manually
selecting Standard PC.
Once the cpu reboots, don't freak out though, because all the devices
will need to reload their respective drivers, so make sure to have 'em
handy. In the end, disclaimer: do this at your own risk . Consider
yourself to be warned . Later!

You might have to disable 'Plug n' Play OS' in your bios in order to
make it work.
