Hi.
Allready now there are quite a few sites dealing with 3D-Honeycomb ,and I hope
the groupe accept that I continue hounting the groupe with bad english spelling
and fancy graphics. -------- I like to add a post with all the groups avaible
,beside the links to those groups not yet opened public, and if you don't know
how to spend the rest of the day, there proberly within the links ,will be
3D-Honeycomb groups you havn't yet checked. I will add the links, and hopefully
you will enjoy the visions in a building method ,that work very different from
the top/side/front views you are used to ; a 3D-H only need two planes not the 3
tradisional planes that most are used to ; this is proberly the "key" to se and
understand the method ,but when you seen that ,the method are quite an
eye-opener.

groups where you need to sign up as members ; ------ check the "Photos" folder
for graphic folders ,and in some of the groups also check the "Files" folder for
AutoCAD or 3Ds. files to check an intergrated framework with your own computer.

These will be opened in turns but those opened have each their issue ; the

deal with the idear of assembling a framework of steel tubes and intergrate this
with a huge framework of concrete frames. And the "Pavilions" groupe

deal with _small buildings_ where the material are mainly steel sheets or
chip-wood or plywood sheets for both framework and paneling.

In these groups you will find full-size boat plans for a few _very nice designs_
based on the 3D-H method. --------
You proberly will spend the most of a day even with a fast connection ,to check
out all the structures made to document and develob the method ; there are not
much text describing the technike ,but hopefully the graphics show. The method
are acceptet by F.A.A. as a building method for small commersial planes, but it
will work in many other very different applications, so another good thing about
it is ,that it is a kind of universal method for a number of constructions
, ------- the possible develobment of the method look very positive ,and the few
problems are easyli solved ; even solving those problems will only lead into
even more possibilities and proberly the method are just the first step to even
more effective methods.
The freedom the method give the designer or Architect is just a new tool. This
_is a tool that allow any amature to generate the framework for a carport or a
small cabin ,but like other simular tools ( Bricklaying ,timber works , aso.
;)) ) it's the feel and knowleage of the designer that create the works
, ------ not the building method.
Published at this state of develobment ,there are that many positive side
effects and that many way's to develob the method further ,but any amature that
think he or she now found the "magic black box" , will be as surprised about the
work involved ,just as with the tradisional methods. The method do challange the
tradisional way of thinking ,but is first of all a new way of thinking a
building structure that will save you a bundle.
First of all the method are a nice alternative to the tradisional methods, and
then a nice alternative according to cost ,compared with the tradisional methods
,but before the method will realy show it's potentials ,there are a need for
more water or laser cutters, and the manufactores of sheet materials need to se
the possibilities with the method ,--------- to bring down the cutting cost.
Not that the cutting cost are a stop boom for the method while it's allready
quite cheap to have sheet materials cut with simple water or laser cutters, but
a few small tools still would be nice. Tools like build-in locks where two
framework assemblies meet, and automatic numbering of pieces ; in the newest
site about small buildings I deal with this problem adding a standarfd lock that
is added where a frame need to be longer than the work arear of the water cutter
, but if you check that groupe ,please check the Photos folder where you also se
a few graphics that even deal with the use of a 3D-H framework being used
directly as reinforcement ,carrying pre-cut holes for steel rods ; kind of CNC
cut assembly for a concrete mold ; you assemble the mold and fill it with
concrete just like you cast concrete in tradisional temp. molds but here the
framework show the exact shape of the building part and act as reinforcement
within the finished building part. Anyway what surprises most ,are it's ability
to intergrate walls and floors with framing structure for the roof and even
elevator sharfts and steps , all in very few building parts ,where the
tradisional methods would requier thousand of small assemblies ,this is done in
"one go" with 3D-Honeycomb.
Just remember ,that the graphics are there to show the method, so please don't
critic the method from my ability to design buildings ; --------- the real gain
will come from develobing the method ,checking out the princips that allready
are stated and working with the method in real.
