Her er den officielle forklaring fra Frauenfeld Kantonalpolizei: (oversat til us)
Due to suspicion of illegal infringement of copyright and trademark laws, the investigative magistracy of Thurgau has closed an internet site, which has served as a link platform for file sharing.
The internet site, whose server is located in Frauenfeld has been online about 30 months and lately recorded on average about 220,000 hits per day, before it was taken offline by the Thurgau authorities a few days ago. The site was ranked in the top by search engines and functioned as a hub for links to download predominantly authorized and copyright protected computer games and films, which led to offers for p2p file sharing.
After the corresponding complaints of various large companies, represented by the swiss association to combat piracy, the Kantonal investigative magistracy of Thurgau opened an investigation, confiscated the server in Frauenfeld and closed the site.
The operator responsible, a 25 year old Swiss man, was very cooperative during the first interrogation of circumstances. The investigation is continuing and will require more time to complete.
